Religion vs. Science: Religion is just antique science. When all we had was the eyeball, science said the sun went around the earth. When we got math, we said the earth wasn't flat. When we got the telescope and math, we re-arranged the solar system. Religious people ask: "What if science discovers there's a God." Answer: "You don't want to go there, because if science discovers God really IS the Flying Spaghetti Monster and you're insisting religion is the same as science, then you have to worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster." Don't try to make antique science be modern science -- that way leads to marinara sauce on the communion hosts.

What a odd question. Shouldn't it be, "Can anybody who believes in Little Red Riding Hood or Batman or anything else Made Up By Guys really add anything to a conversation about science?"

I think Science will discover what is often been referred to as God, and a whole lot of preachers are going to be out of a job. Will probably be difficult to prove to them it's true, but Science will actually be able to do stuff with "IT", and the preachers? Not so much, just like always. |
